We have three self-catering holiday cottages nestled in our 17th century converted farm building (a longère). Two are 3-bedrooms, one is 2-bedrooms. Each has a lounge/ kitchen/ dining area that steps onto a private outside area to the garden. The gardens are slightly elevated and beautifully catch both the sunrise and sunset. We have a 10x5m shared pool set in a fenced and decked area. The grounds extend for 3.5 hectacres alongside the small L’Escourou river and are open to our guests.
Check-in days & minimum stay
We do not impose a weekly changeover day like most properties in the area, you can check-in any day. We simply ask for a 5 night minimum stay June - September, a 3 night minimum stay at other times.
The lowest prices are available by coming direct to us. Although if you prefer you can book via Airbnb or Booking.com. Prices are seasonal and we quote a nightly rate. In addition, there is a local Taxe de Séjours.
taxe de Séjours
We take Taxe de Séjour (nightly tourist tax) in cash upon arrival. It is a small tax that we pay to our local region (Portes Sud Périgord, 24100) and it is invested into local tourism activities. It is €1.04 per adult per night as we are classified as Meublés de Tourisme Classés Trois Étoiles. By example 2 adults with 2 children for 1 week works out at €14.56.
From 1st January 2019 Airbnb and Booking.com will deduct and pay the Taxe de Séjour on our behalf, so any bookings via these channels will not require us to collect Taxe de Séjour at check-in.
Each cottage has been extensively refurbished for the 2017 and 2018 season. They are styled to be calm, comfortable and make your holiday a pleasure. With exposed stone, wooden floors and oak beams each house has a modern rustic feel. The bedrooms are fresh and comfortable and we keep the cottages clean and well-appointed. We aim to retain the charm of a 300 year-old building while providing modern clean facilities.
Swimming Pool & outdoors
We have a large shared swimming pool (10x5m) with steps from one end. Each cottage has its own private outside space covered by a shaded gazebo with views over our large gardens. Each has a table with benches and a BBQ. We have 3.5 hectares of private garden with a barn.
Generally we do not allow non-guests on site at Garrigue. We think primarily about the wellbeing of all our guests.
Pets, environment & safety
We do not accept pets at Cottages de Garrigue.
We are committed to energy saving and recycling and so provide the facilities to help you along. It is important to note that while we attempt to provide a safe and well maintained property our guests stay entirely at their own risk. As per our Terms & Conditions we cannot accept liability if accidents occur. This applies particularly to families with children as we live in a rural location which may present unfamiliar surroundings.
